Thanksgiving | What are you most thankful for?

Macys Thanks giving Parade, something I’d love to attend one day

Firstly I’d like to wish all that celebrate it a Happy Thanksgiving day. This post is really inspired by a blog post by Richard Branson stating what he was thankful for.

This past year has been a very interesting one for myself with lots of upheaval something I am certainly not used to. But I gave this some thought today and have realised that it’s the simplest of things but am also extremely lucky to actually have these things that I am thankful for. That is my health and also my family and friends. Without the love and warmth of my family and closest friends I would have really struggled this year especially without them.

I would really like to hear what you are most thankful for.

VEDA Day 10

As I am unable to vlog for the next few days I thought I would continue with the suggested topics for VEDA and blog about them instead.

What are some things you are bad at?

I believe, I’m not 100% sure but I may have blogged about something like this once before. I searched my blog (but being male I may have not looked properly) but couldn’t find the post I had allegedly written lol.

So I am bad at a few things, one being I am bad at singing, I am very good at singing in part of a group on my own I am certainly no where as good nor as confident. I am doing as quick at updating a friends website as quick as I should, but my biggest thing that I am not very good at in any shape or other is saying no.

I know that sounds daft but I find it difficult saying no to people, of course if someone asked me to do something that would break the law then of course I would say no, but I am really bad at saying No to people as I almost feel as though I am letting that particular person down, when really sometimes I should put myself first every now and then.

A Day Without Tech

Your phone, laptop, tab, ipad and desktop are dead. Will you make it through a normal working day and evening? What would you miss the most?

It’s a horrible thought if all those things were to go without warning, wow how would I keep up with the Postaday Challenge?

In all seriousness as much as I would be disappointed for the day I believe I could cope.  It would be a hard task but certainly doable.  I think I would spend most of the day feeling as though some part of me was missing.  However a day without those things I think would be a good thing because at least we wouldn’t be so engrossed in our phones iPads and computers and would either end up having a much more productive day plus also a more fulfilled one perhaps.  The thing I would miss the most would be the ability to contact anyone at the drop of a hat no matter where I was.  But still we all coped before such technology came along.

D is For Demise of Project 361

Ok so todays letter is the beginning of something that I have been thinking about for some time and to be fair the time is now right.  Along with the The Dailypost Challenge I have been doing another blog called Project 361.  The plan was to take a picture every single day for the year of 2011.  I was meant to start it on January the 1st but forgot.  Over the past 3 weeks or so I have been finding it more and more difficult to upload a new picture everyday and so today I regrettably came to the decision that I will cease my photo blogging challenge hence D is For The Demise of Project 361. I feel really bad that I am having to do this but feel that not posting anything for the length of time  I have pretty much says it all.  So over the next few days I will be compiling all the photo’s that I was able to take and will make a slide show and put it onto my Youtube Channel.

I do feel gutted about this and truly hope this isn’t a sign of things to come in terms of the blogging challenge that I currently take part in, all I know is I will continue to try my hardest and put all of my efforts into my now only blogging challenge.

Trust

How do you recover lost trust? In a person? In an idea?

Bonus: If someone lets you down or betrays you, how do you learn to forgive? And can you possibly learn to trust them again? Why or why not?

Trust is a massive gift you can give someone. On one hand the trust can be something very small and on the other it can be something very big. Ie trusting someone to post a letter can be a small amount of trust and something big could be your life partner etc.

For me to have lost trust or belief in someone then they must have done something pretty major (or something that i believe to be important to me) to have lost it. An example of this happened to me at work this week.

I can learn to trust again definitely. But it’s not something that will be granted over night. It’s something that the person is going to have to earn. Not only earn my trust but also earn my respect for them at the same time because I think the 2 come hand in hand

George McDonald once quoted

To be trusted is a greater compliment than being loved.

Count to 10

Read through first – then do.

Close your eyes. Count to ten. Then imagine a beautiful ancient castle (tastefully remodeled to include central heating, kick-ass wi-fi and WordPress.com ready laptops everywhere). Now walk down the endless main hall, a hall filled with amazing rooms of wonder. Go into the 2nd room on the right. What’s inside?

I walk into the door and on my right hand side there is a big fire-place stacked with logs either side ready to be burnt.  In front of the fire are 2 rather big inviting sofas with a large coffee table in between so one can snuggle up on the sofa and listen to the crackles of the fire in the winter.  On the left (from walking in from the door) the whole wall is one big book-case.  Books from floor to ceiling.  Looking straight ahead from the door are 2 big bay windows with big wooden shutters which are open, allowing the sun to pour in.
